You could have heard a pin drop when Martha Vaughan played her harp at the concert in St. Leonard's Church on February 8th. It was mesmerising. Together with other school pupils, Florence and Bethany, they helped showcase some of the amazing musical talent we have in our village.
Other performers on the night were the WI Federation choir who sang their hearts out and had us swaying in time to favourites such as Viva la Vida, You raise me Up and California Dreaming.
We were also treated to the talents of the Ripon Grammar Chamber Choir who had us whooping and clapping as they led us from the gentle tones of Blue Moon and Tea for Two through to a superb duet and solo, a selection of songs from Les Miserables and finishing up with the much-loved "Goodnight Sweetheart".
It was a fantastic evening that left us all wanting to book the performers to come back again next year! It also raised £750 for the Church. Success all round and thank you to everyone who supported the evening.
